Leaf, containing statues in French with titles in Latin, for the end of 9 Henry V and start of 1 Henry VI.
Physical Description
Layout
Ruled in extremely faint red ink (?) with 47 lines extending to the fore-edge; single vertical bounding lines extend the full height of the page; 46 lines of text per page; prickings survive in the upper margin. No rubrics; the explicit and incipit in larger more formal script; a running title in the centre of the upper margin.
Decoration
One seven-line initial in blue with white decoration, on a cusped gold ground, enclosing acanthus leaves in blue, red, green, brown, and white.
A gold bar entends from the intial the full height of the text, from which grows painted and pen-drawn foliage, extending along the upper and lower margins (fol. 1r).
Paraphs alternately in blue with red penwork, or vice versa, within the text, and in the outer margin marking the chapter numbers.
