History

Provenance and Acquisition

Mainz, Carthusian abbey of St Michael: A miscellany of three different, German, parts, which existed in this form already in the 14th century (see Foliation, above). The 24 leaves missing at the beginning of the volume went lost some time after the foliation was inserted, but before fascicle A, which bears a late 14th-cent. ex-libris inscription of the Mainz Charterhouse, received its quire signatures.

Given to the Bodleian as part of his third donation, dispatched on 28 June 1639.
